Again Mandela’s name has also been used – extensively – within the ANC structures and its Alliance components – SACP, COSATU and SANCO – in profiling his personality in order to overshadow and undermine Thabo Mbeki as one of the outstanding leaders in both the world and the African politics. As a result, much damage to the revolutionary character of the ANC has impacted negatively to its influential and leading role in both the domestic and the world politics. The post-Polokwane politics has created many contradictions within the ANC structures and also in the South African politics. Will the ANC, under Jacob Zuma’s stewardship, be able to resolve the inner-antagonistic contradictions in its long walk towards the Centenary of the ANC in 2012?Are we, as South Africans, going to avoid becoming a society in decay by curbing, within our society, the evil deeds such as corruption, nepotism, racism, tribalism, xenophobia, tenderpreneurship, tithepreneurship, piracy, greedy, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera?___________________________________________________________________“The truth of my definition of South Africa, as an ugly nation, emanates from the ugly reality of the ugly things that I observe daily in our society. I am convinced that what defines us, as the nation, is what dominates the way we live. Therefore I am tempted, daily, to define our ugly nation with many ugly words you can think of, such as: corrupt, greedy, chauvinistic, alcoholic, xenophobic, Afro-phobic, Indo-phobic, Islamophobic, devilish, tribalistic, homophobic, sexist, racist, abusive, murderous, damaged, destructive, patriarchal, discriminative, disdainful, aggressive, ruthless, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, but all in the name of ugliness.” Extract from the book titled: WRITING HAPHAZARDLY: The skeleton of my long walk to freedom of truth!
